The Rose Gardens in Regent's Park are in full bloom throughout the summer.
Sometimes we wander beside the flowers, sometimes we pause to breathe in the scents.
Try a simple mindful awareness of 5 senses among the roses:
What colours can you see?
The closer we look, the more colours and shades we can see.
Notice the scents of different flowers.
Some faint, some so strong they suffuse the air. What do they remind you of?
Touch some petals, gently; notice their textures and shapes.
What can you hear? The bees in the flowers? Nearby trees, birds, people in the park?
Imagine the tastes of roses – there are a surprising number of recipes containing roses, from sweets to salads to soups - let your imagination or your memories flow.
