Summer Roses

The Rose Gardens in Regent's Park are in full bloom throughout the summer.

Sometimes we wander beside the flowers, sometimes we pause to breathe in the scents of summer.

Try a simple mindful awareness of 5 senses among the roses:

What colours can you see?

There are so many different types of rose; even within one flower, the closer we look, the more colours and shades we notice.

Notice the scents of different flowers.

Some faint, some so strong they suffuse the air. What do they remimd you of?

Touch some petals, gently; notice textures and shapes.

What can you hear? The bees in the flowers? Nearby trees, birds, people in the park?

Imagine the tastes of roses – let memories carry you awhile.
